Impacts 2017

Madrid (Spain).- Taking stock of our activity in 2017, we can say that the ACCIONA Microenergia Foundation continued to favour the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), through the provision of access to basic electricity services at the base of the pyramid, with Luz en Casa programmes.
At the beginning of last year there were about 46,000 users in Cajamarca (Peru) and Oaxaca (Mexico), to which more than 300 new users joined with the pilot project executed in the Napo River basin, in the Peruvian Amazon. The latter showed their acceptance to the proposed service delivery model that introduced new aspects on technology and management.

ACCIONA Microenergia implements these models that are tailored to every setting to provide clean and safe energy. Thus, the quality of life of people is improved by reducing the risk of diseases and fires, promoting education and work, facilitating savings in energy, promoting and strengthening economic activities, or avoiding the use of polluting elements.

The constant innovation in our electricity service delivery models was recognized by CAF-Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina and the “Compromiso Empresarial” magazine, which awarded the start-up of the “Centros Luz en Casa” ‒one of the pillars in the technical sustainability of the service provided‒ as one of "The 10 most innovative social initiatives".

Here's the one page explaining our activity in 2017 through results of social, economic and environmental impact.
